Scottish football teams have not done very well in the early stages of European championships at the beginning of the 2009 - 2010 season. This has renewed calls in some places for summer football in Scotland. It would certainly be more pleasant as a supporter to go to games in June, rather than November where there is horizontal rain coming acress the ptich at 80 mph. The more serious point though is that European teams play through the summer so they are match fit and sharp coming in to fixtures in August. Scottish teams have had several weeks off so they are not match sharp. Summer football would make Scottish teams better prepared.
Preparation in anything we do is vital, for a job interveiw, an exam, a driving test, for marriage. Preparation is important.
