Jean Paul Sartre, the French thinker, said that time is an invention of mankind to try to make sense of the period between birth and death.
Is that your understanding of what time is? There are philosopher who have intense debates about the nature of Time.
While we may not entirely understand time we all use it in different ways - we work, we play, we go out with friends, we go to football matches, we buy food and eat .... What is the most important thing you do with your time? That's a very individual question and we will all have a different answer to it.
But what if time is not just an invention of mankind, as Sartre thought, but a gift of a creative God? The Bible says that this God created the world and the people in it. He made the sun and the moon, day and night, light and dark. He created time and He manages time. He then put people in time - he put you in time.
So what does He intend us to do with our time? If we go back to the beginning of this time that God created we see that He put Adam and Eve there to enjoy spending their time with Him and with each other. After they at that apple God came to them in the evening of that day just to spend time with them. The best use of our time then is to get back in to a relationship with God. The Bible says: "Seek God while He may be found, turn to Him while He is near."
