If you use a computer to type anything most software programs underline a word in red if you spell it wrong. If, like me, you are not great at spelling, the "spellcheck" is really useful. I noticed recently though just how dependent I have become on spellcheck. I was taking notes at an event and wrote down a word I was not enitrely sure how to spell. Once I had written it down I paused and waited to see if it would be unerlined in red!! Clearly I need to learn to spell better.
I have just got used to seeing things that are spelled wrong being underlined in red.
Often when people read the Bible they seem to be looking for the bits they think should be underlined in red, the bits that are wrong. There are none, yet some people seem to be interested in reading the Bible only to show that God is in some sense - wrong. Your attitude when you read the Bible is always going to affect what you understand it to be saying.
If the Bible is Gods communication to you it's important that you come to this unique book willing to hear Him speak and not to close Him out.
Try reading the Bible without looking for any bits underlined in red!

Definately! This is so true - if we come to the Bible as if we know it all already, we're not going to get much out of it. We need to have an attitude of humility. Ask God to help you |
