World Domino Day - A New Start

World Domino Day is held in November at Leeuaurden in the Netherlands where people try to create a new world record every year for toppling dominos in lines to make all kinds of patterns. The record set in November was for toppling 4,491,863 dominos.

I guess we have all tried setting up a few dominos and then knocking them down, maybe not quite as many as the current world record but we've probably all tried it.  Sometimes in life you feel like you have gone to a lot of effort to arrange something, to set it up just right, a family celebration or a new project at work and it all seems to fall apart like the dominos toppling over. Life can seem incredibly unfair sometimes. You have worked hard and then for no reason you get ill and you can't finish something you started, or someone in your family is sick and you can't do anything to make them better. The doctors can't fix it and neither can anyone else - you just have to help them learn to live with it. All those dominos you had in line in life topple round about you completely out of your control. You want to be able to just start again, there must be an easier way.
Jesus met a lot of people looking for a new start. He told one of them that he had to be born a second time. Obviously that wasn't possible in the normal sense. But that's not what Jesus meant. He meant you had to have a new spiritual start in life. The first time you and I are born we can't make that birth happen by ourselves. It's the same when you are born in a spiritual sense, you can't make that happen yourself. it needs God to give you a new life, a new start. The part you can play is to ask him for that new life. If you are interested in a new start you can find out more here.
